time to wash your hair

Want to know how many washes it takes to get vaseline out of a 2 year old's hair - 6!!!

The other morning chad and I were laying in bed and all of a sudden I get a strong wiff of baby powder. Hmmm....what is this. I opened my eyes and carson's hair is gooped with vaseline. Into the shower we went. i shampoo'd his hair twice, fine tooth combed the crap out, washed it with make up remover and he still had a greasy head. Thanks to FB i learned that dish soap cuts the grease. 2 washings with that and we were good to go. I'd say that'll teach him...but I don't think it will:) He is my little mischievous child and we love him for that. thanks Carse for keeping me on my toes.

Plates

I have a plate rack in my kitchen that proudly displays hand or foot prints of my kids!!!! This might be my favorite piece of artwork in the house. Last year I took the boys to a mommy and me class at the pottery painting place and we made turkey plates. I put the plates up the 1st of November and realized Caylee needs a turkey plate. I looked up the class for november and they turkey plates weren't nearly as cute as the year prior. I noticed that for an additional $15 you can have someone there paint it for you - sold!!! I already know I can do it and I have no time...so let's be real, $15 sounds like a deal to me. So not only did i get a turkey plate, I did a lady bug and a my little prince for Carson. They turned out super cute. I can't wait till Christmas so I can put the little handprinted reindeer out.

Picture Fundraiser

My MOPS group hosted a fundraiser which was a 20 minute time slot with a photographer. Chad had to work so I took the kids. I really don't think I could of lasted more than 20 minutes. The pictures were going to be ust the kids and while I was there I thought 'heck, when is the last time that I had a decent picture with the kids'? I am always the one taking the pictures and never in them. I am so happy I decided to get in a picture. I can't believe how great it turned out AND that all THREE kids are looking at the camera.
Get outta town!!!!!!

Adult halloween

Chad and I hosted or 2nd annual Halloween Bash. I have been so busy this year that i was drawing a blank for a costume. Tia was over and we were browsing the internet looking for ideas when we came across a group of girls who were dressed as soda pop cans. So, that's what we decided we would be. I made the dresses and Tia painted on the logos. Not too bad.

Chad took the easy way out and went as a beer vendor. We had such a great time and loved seeing everyone in their costumes.

Looking forward to next year's bash!!

Halloween

As you know the boys were robots for Halloween but, did you know what little miss Caylee was??? She was a strawberry!!! She was so cute you could eat her.

A couple days before Halloween we took the kids in to Chad's work to go trick or treating. The kids scored with the candy.

I am a robot!

If you ask Cole what is his name he will at times say Robot. When I asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween he of course said a Robot. Great! WTH! Seriously, could you not think of something that is much easier?! So i went to my handy dandy website which I seem to reference for most everything. It's called coolest - ... Coolesthomemade costumes, coolest cakes, coolest birthday parties, you name it whatever is cool, it's on there. I use the site for every birthday and they happened to have coolest homemade robot costumes on there. After browsing thru a ton of costumes, I finally came up with something that I think looks pretty cool:

What's better than one robot...two robots!!

(Carson only wore his costume for a brief moment and was thrilled that I could get a pic with him in it. I think 2 is a hard age to get them to wear something)

Batman Birthday Party!

This year I planned a fun 4th birthday party for cole. He wanted a Batman theme and I was thrilled with his idea!!!! I have a handy dandy cricut machine so I made these super cool invitations-

I also had to make sure the Perham Gang sported batman attire and made Caylee this cute little dress.

Onto the party....once all the kids arrived I told them that I went to get Cole's birthday cake and it was gone!!! The oker had taken his cake and we needed to go thru superhero training so we could find that cake! The kids got a kick out of that and kept saying "we need to find that cake". 1st up was vision training. For vision training we pinned the bat in the symbol. After all the troops had completed the training they all received super hero masks. next up, strength training. I set up an obstacle course in the backyard for the kids to do. After everyone completed the course I said 'what does every superhero need?" Capes they yelled, and capes they received. Pizza arrived ust in time for the little superhero's to get their strength so we could find that cake. After the kids were eating I got the kids attention and said look - there's a clue. The clues led us on a scavenger hunt around the house to find the missing cake. The last clue eventually led us to the bat cave where the dessert table greeted the kids! The kids were so thrilled when we opened the tent and they saw all the goodies! It was such a fun party and I can't believe how well the kids did with all the games. 4 is the perfect age to start games. I have already planned Carson's 4th - a superman party. Now I will need to sway him into it. Mind you, we still need to get to his 3rd b-day before we can get to that one:)
