Mission Beach

On Saturday my brother and his family drove down to San Diego to hang out with us for the day. We went to Ruby's diner for cheeseburgers then headed to Mission Beach so the kids could play around. I was not prepared at all. I thought the water would be cold so the kids would just play in the sand and I wouldn't need a change of cloths. Well, I was wrong. Cole had so much fun playing and running from the waves that he got soaking wet. He was crying that his clothes were wet so I took them off and he darted right back towards the ocean in his diaper. The boys had so much fun playing with their cousins and playing on the beach that we can't wait to head back!

later that night we headed to the wedding. The wedding was on the naval base and over looked the harbor. It was absolutely beautiful.

Legoland

This past weekend we headed to San Diego for a friends wedding. We decided to make it into a family vacation. Chad wasn't able to make the first part of it, but was able to fly out and meet up with us Friday night.

Our first stop was legoland! My mom and I took the boys and had such a great time. Cole was the cutest thing ever. He absolutely loved the rides and was hootin' and hollerin' so much that people would turn around on the rides just to watch him. We hit legoland on a perfect day. It was slightly overcast so I didn't have to worry about the boys getting sunburned and it was dead. We didn't have to wait in line for anything. Cole would have so much fun on the rides that when it was over he would say 'one more time'. So, we would hop off then hop back on. Below are my two favorite pictures from legoland along with a slide show.

My brother works for the CA school district so we bought the tickets through him. We decided to buy the hopper tickets which included the aquarium.

Diet Coke Pease!

My little Cole has never had diet coke in his life nor will he anytime soon. However, i can not say the same thing for me. It is one of my daily intakes and need it for survival. Apparently Cole thinks he needs it to0. This past Sunday i was loading the kids in the car to take them to Einsteins (which is a weekly ritual for us) and Cole said to me Diet Coke pease. I said no, you can have milky. He started his cry/wimper and said Diet Coke pease (that's how i sound when i need it too). I just started laughing as it was the cutest thing. I love that Cole is talking so much and I am looking forward to sharing all the cute things he says.

His friends say the cutest little things too. Colie was eating lunch with his friend Layla yesterday and she said 'Isn't if fun to eat lunch with your friends cole!'. It sure is!!!!!

Cookies

The boys and I had a fun time making a mess...I mean making cookies!! We made oatmeal craisin white chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious. If you live in my neighborhood, you were lucky enough to receive a bag of them. I love to bake but I have to give away what i make or send Chad off to work with the goodies. If i leave them at home.... DANGER!
Mom, I am ready to bake!!! When Cole was little he was my counter top baby. He sat in the bumbo chair non-stop while I cooked. He loved to be apart of things and sat very patiently. Now, i have Mr. Wiggles (Carson) who can't sit still to save his life. I had to keep my eye on him like a hawk to make sure he didn't wiggle out of the bumbo. He only gets to sit on the counter top for special occasions. Cole on the other hand - anytime! My apologies if the cookies don't taste that good. As you can see not all of the ingredients made it in!!!

Easter

The boys had a fun filled Easter this past Sunday. They found their baskets that the easter bunny left them and enjoyed the little toys they got. Then I made brunch and had my Mom and brother over. After that we headed down to the park for our 1st annual neighborhood easter egg hunt! Cole had so much fun with all his friends running around looking for eggs.

After we finished the neighborhood festivities, we headed over to Uncle Gary's house. All the kids were super excited when Aunt Kristin showed up with a bunny. Cole had so much fun etting the bunny and hopping all around. The kids enjoyed another egg hunt and finished off the day with turkey and ham! Hope everyone had a fun filled day.

Grandma Maggie Mudgett

My Grandmother Maggie Sage Mudgett passed away last week. She left behind her 10 children and plenty of grand children. I have lost count but I think there are about 30 grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.

My Dad was gracious enough to fly me and my brothers out to Michigan for the funeral and what turned into a family reunion. We arrived in Adrian Michigan Thursday evening and headed over to my Aunts for Hot Dogs and soup (my Grandma's favorite foods). After dinner we headed back to the lodge and visited with everyone in the lounge.

On Friday we had a trip down memory lane. We went to go and visit the farm that my Dad and his family grew up on. My Grandmother and Grandpa lived on a 92 acre farm in Tecumseh MI and sold it over 40 years ago. The lady that bought it is still living there and was gracious enought to open up her home for all of us to see. It was amazing to walk through the home. She had the exact same appliances and get this...the exact same wall paper was up. It was so neat to see.

We then drove to see the factory that my Great Grandfather co-founded. My Great Grandpa Sage created the first air compressor and co-founded the company Tecumseh Products. We then drove on the see the 2nd house my Dad grew up in and the rest of the Sage houses. Later that evening we had dinner at the county club followed by the vigil.

Saturday was the day of the funeral. We headed to Tecumseh where she was to be laid to rest next to my Grandpa Mudgett. The headstones my family has are amazing. I have never seen anything like it. We had the Sage's which was my Grandma's side and then the Mudgett Sage headstone where my Grandpa is and Grandma will be. The funeral was at St. Elizabeth and was beautiful and was followed by lunch in the dining hall. I learned from the Father during the funeral that My Great Grandpa built the Catholic school just so my Aunts and Uncles would have a catholic school to go to. They also put my Great Grandparents incharge of the roast beef fund raising dinner. So what did they do, built a kitchen to go with it! They were very generous and giving people and we will miss all of the Mudgetts and Sage's who have passed.

We ended the day back at my Aunt Julies Lake house for food, fun and to watch Michigan State. I had a great time seeing everyone and is glad that my grandma is reunited with her husband!
